Meet Our
Doctors
EMMANUEL
I. OBI M.D.
In 1999, with a burning desire to deliver professional care
and a heart bent on helping families live a healthier life, Dr.
Obi, became the founder and medical director of FirstCare
Medical Center, P.C., a medical center built on caring, caring
for patients and their families in a highly compassionate way.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Obi completed his Internal Medicine residency at Meharry
Medical College in Nashville Tennessee. Dr. Obi seeks to
practice a form of medicine that takes the fear and anxiety out
of medical care, always listening to his patients with keen
attention and devotion. In his words “everyone is someone and
everyone deserves care.” And so ‘caring’ is a way of life for
Dr. Emmanuel Obi, which is why he teams up with like minds and
hearts to “Treat You Like Family.”
P.
RENEE OBI, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Not many doctors get a complement such as “God did not make
any perfect people, but he came close when he made Dr. Renee.”
Born in Nashville, the heart of Tennessee, Dr. Renee Obi, Board
Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, grew up in a
family where caring for hearts has become a legacy. She attended
Syracuse University in New York and Medical School at Temple
University in Pennsylvania, and went on to teach at Meharry
Medical College while practicing with her father, a renowned
cardiologist, Dr. Kermit Brown. Like father like daughter, the
medical mission progressed. It was at Meharry Medical College
that a fusion of care and hearts brought Emmanuel Obi and Renee
Obi together. They are happily married with a son. Highly
spirited and with a combined interest to give quality care,
they(Dr(s) Renee and Emmanuel Obi) ventured in search of a
community needing quality primary and cardiac care. They decided
on FirstCare for Brownsville and extended their services to
Jackson, Tennessee. Since 1999, Dr Renee has been practicing in
both cities even as she spares time out of her busy schedule,
giving talks on heart health at community functions and staying
actively involved in the affairs of the American Heart
Association of which she is member. Hardly do months go by
without Dr. Renee exhibiting her passion, caring for the
elderly, teaching them and her patients about their bodies,
about how to look out for warning signs and modify risk factors
such as smoking and obesity to prevent heart problems. Most
definite with Dr Renee is her ‘patient needs first approach.’
This explains why she remains one of the few doctors in the
world who get those rare, special patient appraisals.
